How much does a first aid course cost in the UK?

Public UK first aid courses typically cost from about £80 per person for a one-day EFAW up to £200–£350+ for longer FAW, outdoor or specialist courses (plus VAT). Exact prices depend on qualification, location, group size and whether training is on-site.

Typical public course ranges (guide only)

Prices move with region and demand. As a planning guide for open courses:

• Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW): often ~£80–£150 pp + VAT
• First Aid at Work (FAW): often ~£200–£350+ pp + VAT
• Outdoor / Forest School: commonly in a similar band to multi-day specialist courses
• Paediatric first aid: varies widely by length and awarding body

Always confirm the current fee with the provider — Book First Aid routes your request; providers set and confirm pricing.

What drives the price

• Course length and awarding body
• Trainer travel and venue hire for on-site delivery
• Class size and equipment
• Region (London and remote areas often cost more)
• Whether lunch, manuals or renewal reminders are included

Public place vs on-site group

A single open-course place is simple for individuals. Employers training several people often save with an on-site day rate. Include headcount, venue postcode and preferred dates when you request a quote.
